So this week I decided to move back to some regular strength training style workouts, as in my mind the Crossfit style stuff wasn’t really doing it for me. So today this is what I did
Squat – 10 reps for 4 sets 155 lbs.
Stiff Leg Deadlift – 10 reps for 4 sets 135 lbs.
Step Up (12″ box) – 10 reps (Per Leg) at 60 lbs.
1000 Meter Row for a finisher.
Going to do upper body twice a week and lower body twice a week and cardio/tabata finishers at the end of each workout. So Monday and Wednesday will be upper body and Tuesday and Thursday will be lower body.
I will continue with the Intermittent Fasting of course as I have gotten kind of used to doing it and it just happens to work for me to just eat during that 8 hour window each day.
I do think that going back to a more bodybuilding style/strength training workout will be more beneficial to me at least in terms of getting to where I want to be. And besides at 48 I want to keep myself feeling as young as possible and I want to be as strong as possible, especially in that 8 – 10 rep range so the goal will be to keep moving those weights up and keeping that rep range.
