Lazy, Busy, and who knows…

Yes a bit of everything at this point. But the big point is I haven’t posted a damned thing here in the last several days. I am going to chalk most of it up to just being way to busy for my own good, followed by laziness. Most of what I have been doing is working, which has kept me quite busy while here so I don’t have a lot of time to just take a few minutes to post something.

After I get done with work it is off to home where my time is then consumed with working out, then dinner and paying attention to the wife and our puppy. And catching up on the reading I need and want to get done. In the last couple of weeks I have finished a couple of books, one being The Terminal List: A Thriller by Jack Carr, highly recommend giving this a read for sure, it was a great book. The other book I read was The Ragamuffin Gospel: Good News for the Bedraggled, Beat-Up, and Burnt Out by Brennan Manning, also an excellent read which has helped me greatly on my journey back to God.

On the fitness front, I have mainly been doing Crossfit workouts, but I am going to go back to a more strength training/power building type routine at least for a few months, I think I will benefit from it far more as though Crossfit is great it isn’t giving me what I want in terms of strength and size gains/body fat loss. I have also started this week stepping up my eating game, because I seriously haven’t been eating enough food at all and this I am going to put on my wife as she forces her restricted calorie intake on me at times because she thinks I am eating too much, when my reality is I need somewhere in the vicinity of 2500+ calories a day just to maintain. So I decided to avoid letting her dictate so much in terms of what or how I eat in order to get my shit moving in the right direction. End goal still the same 10 – 12% body fat by the end of the summer. Bodyweight isn’t important just composition.

To that end I will do the power building type routine I have done in the past focusing mostly on the big exercises 5 sets of 8 reps for each. Trying to do a couple of different exercises per body part and working each body part once per week to start. Then working my way up to twice per week if I see fit. I will be including some Tabata style finishers at the end of each workout to get in necessary cardio and then doing cardio only on off days.

This weeks Workouts and other stuff…

Ok, I have been seriously slacking of course with keeping up on posting this stuff but here is the quick and dirty.

Monday – Elliptical for 30 Minutes (Knees were hurting like hell so took the easy way out.)

Tuesday – We took the dog for a 2 mile walk around our neighborhood because the wife had a doctors appointment after work.

Wednesday

5 Rounds for Time:
15 KB Swings – 53 lbs.
15 Push-Ups
Row 400 Meters
This was a 25 minute workout for me, the rowing seriously slows you do for sure. Even when I get a good pace going it is still hard to row 400 meters fast. Gotta work on that for sure.

Not sure what tonight will be for a workout as of yet, mainly because I tweaked my knee last night doing the KB Swings, so need to figure something out to work around that. Will see about that as I plan that later today.

So onto the other stuff, I got word the other day about a close friend passing away, we lived next to one another for decades, grew up together watched our families grow and what not. Apparently he took his own life, and that is what seriously left me speechless as it is not something I would have ever expected to hear having happened to him. Outwardly it seemed that he had it altogether for sure, but there was obviously something. But in regards to the whole suicide thing, damn people, there is nothing worth taking your own life, it is possible to recover from anything, you just have to share how you are feeling with the people around you, with professional help if that is what you need to get by but damn do something, because you are leaving people behind that love you and care for you and you shouldn’t do shit like that to them.

The other thing I am up to is reading this book, The Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning (https://amzn.to/2IOu3pc) I highly recommend picking it up and giving it a read. As I have mentioned before I grew up as a Roman Catholic, and basically had those principles shoved down my throat for a long time, and at some point decided it wasn’t for me. That was around 15 or 16, and I basically turned to Satanism first Laveyan then later on Luciferianism, and with both of these it has nothing to do with believing in Satan or anything like that, but believing that you yourself are your own god. Well lately this just hasn’t been doing it for me, but being a catholic again wasn’t going to do it for me either, so with the help of a friend who turned me onto this book and some other stuff I am going to be finding my way back to God because it just seems to make sense to me at this point in my life, there was something missing, maybe this is it, maybe it isn’t. But considering myself a Christian surely isn’t going to be harmful in any way shape or form.

Yep Still a Slacker…

I know totally suck for sure. It isn’t easy to travel for work. So this week my full time job has me in Austin, TX, now I am sure it is a beautiful and cool place to see and hang out at but I don’t actually get to do that. I get to spend my day working from 8 until around 5 ish then head back to the hotel and workout and then shower and eat. So I get to really do nothing. A good portion of my job while doing what I am this week is like watching paint dry, so you can imagine how bored I am by the end of the week.

I do have hopes to visit http://rogueamericanapparel.com/ which has its original store here in Austin, I have been to the one up by Fort Hood in TX already but I want to visit the original store while I am here. I was also hoping to check out The Range at Austin, but that is a 40 minute drive north of where I am staying and working, so kind of knocked that off the list.

And then today I am watching the weather and Friday is going to be shitty back home, where I have to fly into in the Northeast so there is that potential for delays in getting me home. I am hoping that something such as that doesn’t happen as I will not be a happy camper at all. I just want to get home at this point in time.

10 days after I get home I am back out on the road, this time to Orlando, FL. If the weather is decent this will prove to be a bit nicer but still, I won’t be doing much fun while I am down there, other than hoping to find a decent place to stay so that I can enjoy the hotel I am in it will be great.

The upside, when I am traveling I get a lot of reading done, depending on the length of the trip or even the flights I am knock off 2 – 3 books over the course of the trip. This week I might finish just 1, but that is OK, it is one more book knocked off my list of books to read.

I do need to spend some time writing while I am doing this traveling, I mean I have lots of time, so I have to stop being a slacker, but sometimes its hard because time just gets away from you in these cases.

2018 and my plans

Well it is here and we have another year in the books. So what is it I want to actually accomplish with this coming year, this will be a list that I hope to come back to and check items off of as I knock them out.

Biggest, earn 55K extra dollars this year and put it towards paying off all of our credit card debt so that it is non-existent.

Start writing erotica as one part of earning that extra 55K.

Start teaching people about safely using there firearms and concealed carry also as a part of earning that extra 55K.

Start writing and finish the novel I have in my head, it will actually be a multi-part story, that I expect to be able to finish out in 3 books.

On the Diet & Fitness side

Exercise more, in terms of doing more Crossfit style workouts with weight lifting in them, as this is what does the best for me in terms of helping my levels of fitness.

Clean up my diet, I eat too much junk, I gotta stop, or do better, I mean every now and again a guy has got to be able to enjoy some cheesecake or ice cream.

Change my body composition, I am not hung up on how much I weight, but I could certainly stand to have less body fat, and if that means weighing less at some point then so be it, but I am not killing my self to get to some number that might not be possible. I have already lost nearly half my body weight from the high point which was over 400lbs (and only about 20% body fat mind you) so all good.

On the fun side of things, just do more stuff outside as the weather permits. One of those things for me will be competitive shooting, since I have started shooting again this is something I am trying to work towards and this coming year I will get myself started.

Want to do some hiking in different areas around here where I live, just to get out and enjoy the fresh air more often. And because well it doesn’t cost money, need to save as much of that as humanly possible.

Oh yeah, another important thing, more SEX! Who doesn’t need more SEX!!

Those are the big things, as I am sure there are lots more things I will do to improve me during the course of this year, but the biggest focus has to be on paying down our debt.

Hump Day…

Well for me it is, this wonderful three day week has me all sorts of fucked up with timing, and then next week is just going to be 4 days. But I am OK with that at this point.

However I am not OK with it being under 20 degrees again today, not quite sure why after all my life in the NE that I am still not used to the cold when winter comes along. And it has roared in this month with both snow and now wind and cold. Please go away! And more snow to come this weekend as well.

Still working this training stuff at work, it is really fun, NOT! I have 10 more modules to finish by the 2nd of January, good thing I found out I can get an extension, which I will be looking into tomorrow, going to need it as I won’t get but 4 maybe 5 of them done by then, all depends on how long it takes me to get through the tests.

All in all just another boring day at the office for sure. In between I have been doing some more exciting reading though, nothing like a couple of erotic stories here and there to get a good boner going while sitting at your desk…LOL

Wednesday is my Monday

Well at least this week it is. Being it was the Xmas holiday on Monday I decided that I would take off the Friday before and the Tuesday after to stretch my weekend out to 5 days, which in turn shortens my work week to three days this week. And with it being really quiet around here it is a nice thing.

I do have some work to do, but not much at all in reality, but trying to get it out of the way to get back to this work related training thing I need to finish before the 2nd of January. That will be a tall order for sure but going to give it a go.

The good things about this weekend, my son came down with our granddaughter, and I got to get in some range time with him, he missed that as much as I missed going with him. Also figured out that when it comes to my firearms I have a sweet spot, 4″ – 4.5″ barrels is where they need to be for me to shoot best. So now looking to trade two firearms to get two more that fit that sweet spot, just waiting for my FFL. But if anyone would like to buy me one of these please do

This is a Salient Arms M&P Tier 1 which I would love to have…LOL but at 2600 bucks not anytime soon.

Well I must be getting back to work at this point, I have goofed off enough for the moment.

2018, What’s to come…

Yes, with 2018 around the corner that of course always has everyone thing about what is to come, for me that is easy, I have some clearly defined goals for 2018, and here is what I am looking to make happen for myself:

– Land a gov’t job

– Gotta earn an extra 55K (to pay our CC debt off in full.)

– Get my Firearms Training business up and completely running and earning money.

– Start publishing short stories on Amazon (erotica).

– Start writing my novel, and publish to Amazon by the end of 2018 or sooner.

– Possibly renew my Personal Trainer certification, started working towards this, just not sure if I will actually do that, it isn’t a must do just a maybe.

– Finish my weight loss quest, I am down about 7 lbs and my intention is to get under 200, maybe around 195, but with a much lower body fat than I have currently.

I think this is more than plenty to accomplish in the new year, the most important is to pay off our debt.
