Workouts so far this week…

I am again running out of time in my days and don’t get anything posted. So here I am again getting in a quick post while at work. Just gives me a rest from my other editing that I am doing.

Monday:
Chest & Triceps
DB Bench Press – 5 x 8 x 50 lbs.
Incline DB Bench Press – 5 x 8 x 40 lbs.
Triceps Press – 5 x 8 x 48 lbs.
Bench Dips – 5 x 8 x BW
Finisher – 8 Minute Tabata 40/20 on my elliptical.

Tuesday:
Back & Biceps
Pull-Up – 5 x 8 x BW
DB Row – 5 x 8 x 40 lbs.
Good Morning – 5 x 8 x 95 lbs.
DB Bicep Curl – 5 x 8 x 40 lbs.
Hammer Curl – 5 x 8 x 30 lbs.

I am thinking about changing this to a more push/pull based thing as well, doing 4 days still but doing a push day followed by pull with the first one being a heavy, followed by a push/pull that is more moderate. So the first set of days would be using 6 reps and heavier weight and then the second half would be 8 reps and lighter weights. Right now this is more of a contemplation and I will decide later this week before moving towards that. I think it could be good because I can play around with some extra exercises I wouldn’t have done or wouldn’t have included otherwise.

As far as eating I am still keeping to the around 2100 calorie mark that I have set for myself, so that is a good thing. And I am not doing bad with keeping away from eating things like chocolate.

Of course I haven’t done anything with the blog here in a few days because of how busy I have been. My life doesn’t amount to much, Monday through Friday I wake up around 430AM get ready for work, head out for work around 535ish spend 40 minutes in the car getting here, then I work from 630ish till around 330ish and back in the car to head home, another 45 minutes to an hour, all depends on traffic. Get home change, work out and then its time for a shower and dinner. After that its time to do a bit of relaxing and reading. It is usually 8PM before I even get to that. Bedtime is usually 10 – 1030ish. And of course then I wake up and repeat. This leaves me little to no time for anything else.

Things I still need to get in on a daily basis, trying to post something to this blog, so that I am writing something on a daily basis even if it is something like this post. Dry fire practice, very important as a gun owner who carries and being I intend to compete at some point I need to get that in so that I have really good trigger control, so that I get good hits on target. And then of course time to start writing that novel I want to get done. At some point I will figure this all out. It would surely help if I could get my wife to exit her place of work not far from me on time, we are only supposed to work 8 hours a day not 9+.

And the Weekend is ending

So it is Sunday evening and so tomorrow we return to work and getting things done for this particular validation. It has been moving along nicely and we are accomplishing what was set out to be done.

I did spend some time today working, but wasn’t able to get what I wanted to finished because the network was down for updates back up at my home station which totally stunk for sure. That will leave me doing it in the AM or I might try in a few minutes to see if they brought it back up and see what I can get done before I head off to bed.

The weather has been great down here so workouts have just been long ass walks outside, I might run into an issue with that in the next couple of days as there is supposed to be rain here on Tuesday and Wednesday so that will stink for sure as the fitness center isn’t yet up and running here. They do appear to be closer to being done with everything but they aren’t completely done as of yet. Was hoping they would be finished but doesn’t appear.

Hopefully the week moves along quickly at least I can hope for that but gotta be prepared for it to drag a bit.

I am definitely not a fan of traveling for work, though I have to do it. Not a fan because it screws up my exercise routine and it messes up my diet some, though I do the best I can with both depending on my circumstances it still isn’t easy.

Oh, one thing, I might not have mentioned, as far as air travel, traveler be WARNED Spirit Airways is a total rip off, not only did my company pay airfare, but then when I went to check in to get a seat there was an extra charge ($11, up to $44), then there was also the baggage fee, highest amongst the airlines ($40), oh and get this, so I get to the airport and find out my bag is overweight, 40lbs is there top end, so there goes another $30 bucks. So now on the way back going to cost me another $70 bucks to get my luggage home and another $11 for getting a seat again, so that cheap fair I think the company thought I was getting turned out to not be so cheap. Very annoying. I won’t ever be flying on that particular airline ever again because of that.

Well must run, need to see if I can get on the network and get that stuff done maybe before I go to bed.

The Weekend…

This is the worst part of traveling for work, nothing like having to spend a weekend alone by oneself. There is only so much you can do. So today was the day to have a bit of fun, so I took a drive to Disney Springs, which is a shopping mall by Disney itself. The last time I was here I also went there but I didn’t cover the whole thing at all, but this time I managed to see pretty much everything.

The other thing about this trip that sucks is with no fitness center in the building it makes it more difficult to get in a decent workout. So I have to investigate an alternative at least for the rest of the time I am here since this place doesn’t have its fitness center up and running. I noticed a place up the road from here and I am going to look them up and see if they charge a daily fee or something.

And it totally sucks to have to eat dinner by oneself is never fun so I just went to Chic-Fil-A rather than a real restaurant, cuz than it always feels weird.

The other downside to this trip is during it I found out that my company lost its contract and now I have to get my job but with the new company that won the contract. This shouldn’t be much of an issue as I have worked for said company twice before. The good thing is I go in with seniority with nearly 4 years working for them. The company itself well they did a bit of a backslide a bit ago, hopefully they have improved since the last time I worked with them, but I think that might have had a lot to do with the people and the organization I was working with, it wasn’t that great. The organization I work with now is cool, great people and I want to make sure I get to stay there, not just because of that but also because I am trying to transition to a gov’t position in the same location and that is something that should be happening soon or so I should hope. The gov’t doesn’t move all that fast which annoys me to no end.

I know my life is a bit boring, but hey we can’t all be overtly exciting.

Should be interesting when I get home, my wife is painting our master bath, as we decided it needed some color, so she was doing that today. Will be interesting to see how it turned out. I might not get to see it till I get home which is next Friday.

Well I am going to head off now to being bored, and finishing up with doing my son’s homework for him…LOL (not really but he is picking my brain seriously for the last 2 hours).

Oh, upside, it was about 86 degrees today, the downside, there are lots of new strange pollens in the air here that are aggravating the shit out of my allergies and sinuses leaving me miserable for the most part. LOL

Day 1 & 2 in the bag…

So the travel day and the actual first day of work are done. This was a good day though, because last time I was here for a similar event it was a total disaster. Today on this time around the day was productive and we got a good deal done. So got some good vibes in regards to how I expect the rest of the time here to go.

The downside to being here is the hotel was supposed to have a fitness center, something which it apparently doesn’t seem to have because they are doing a renovation on the place that isn’t quite done. It appears to be mostly done and maybe if they finish before the end of my time here they will get the fitness center open. In the meantime I did do a 3+ mile run/walk today, the upside to being in Florida the weather though a bit cool was wonderful.

Funny thing is my son came down to Florida to take my granddaughter to Disney for the first time, so I get to go out to dinner with them tomorrow. That will be nice for sure, just have to figure out somewhere to go.

Well this is going to be it for now, I have to get my ass to bed to get up tomorrow.

And the Fun Begins…

So this morning I was up well before the sun ever started shining this morning, so that I could catch a ride to the airport and head off to Orlando, FL for work for the next two weeks. The good thing is the flight was good, and then after a short wait I got my rental car pretty quickly. And then it was a pretty quick drive to the hotel and even better even though I got here well before check in time I was able to check in and get my room, so I got a couple of hours to sit and relax.

So now I gotta go out and get some supplies, in this case do some grocery shopping for lunch stuff and dinner stuff, the downside on that is the fridge and microwave are pretty small so I won’t be able to get too much stuff all at once. Maybe enough lunch stuff for two weeks, and then dinners for a couple of days at a time. So that is what I am about to get ready to head out and do. And then back here to the room and relax as that is something I want to do, and then maybe a cardio workout later, after I check out what is going on with the gym in this place.

So the other thing, its spring break down here, so not sure how overtly crowded things are going to be down this way, but well all good. Just gotta roll with it.

So another couple of days…

Till I am off traveling again for work. This time I will spend 2 weeks in Orlando, FL, but first I have to get through another N’Easter here at home, the one from last week was bad enough. I had my flight canceled coming back from Austin, TX as I arrived at Dulles International. I then had to rent a car and drive for 7 hours (usually a 2.5 hour drive) in order to get home the day I was supposed to.

This was caused by the closure of 2 of 3 bridges across the Susquehanna River, and eventually the closed the third but not till after I got across it.

But I finally got home, and now I get my 7 days at home before heading out again. Hopefully the weather will be decent in FL, that will be the highlight of going there. The other thing I hope to spend some time doing while there is getting some writing done.

After this trip I am expecting to either go back to Austin, TX or to Huntsville, AL, my preference is to go to Huntsville, so hopefully that is the trip I get to make.

Was also nice to get back and do a real workout, trips make for usually nothing but cardio getting done which is fine, but I miss my regular workouts. But at least I am getting workouts done so this is still a good thing.

Last thing, I talked a few days ago about my wife’s food issues, its funny as I told her yesterday about what my eating intentions would be going forward she literally balked at how 1900 calories per day was entirely too much, though my requirements are more like 2800 per day. But I guess she has gone so long not eating properly she doesn’t get it. I came to the realization that if I got her to eat normal for too long she would probably gain 20+ pounds because her metabolism is shot out from eating less than 700 calories a day for so long. Her body is in a perpetual state of thinking its starving so she won’t ever lose any weight, and I can’t tell her that or she will stop eating altogether.

But that is it for now.

Ah yes…

And it is almost time for the traveling to home to start.

I have to get my ass up bright and early in the morning around 4AM so that I can get my ass to the airport by 530 or so to catch a 7AM flight out of Austin. And then in between I have to keep my fingers crossed that the weather in the NE cooperates so that I can actually get all the way home.

On another more serious note, because this is something that has been on my mind for a couple of weeks now and since this is my anonymous source of posting things I am going to share this. It strikes a chord for me because I have been clean and sober now for nearly 9 years. But I get to basically watch my wife continue to be in the throws of her own addiction involving food, anorexia to be more specific. She has been obsessed with her weight and how she looks for pretty much the entire time we have been together, which is going on 27 years now, and of course for a good portion of that time she got to experience me in my addiction, and was there for my bottom. It appears that she doesn’t have a bottom and I don’t think she will ever actually see that bottom, and I say that more because of something she said a couple of weeks ago after remarking about how much I ate at dinner (while she left her food pretty much unfinished) as I said to her, if I didn’t force you to eat you would starve to death. At which time she remarked yes I probably would, and she said it with a smile.

She has pretty much been subsisting on maybe around 500 – 600 calories a day for quite some time now, it might even be less, I only ever see her eat dinner in the evening, I don’t know what she actually eats during the day. I also don’t know what she eats when I am traveling, she says she does but I really don’t know.

I have read enough material to know that one can subsist off this little for a long long time, but it will have consequences on ones body, I make sure she gets a vitamin supplement daily, that likely helps. She is obsessed with losing weight, she doesn’t however realize that she has shot out her metabolism and she won’t lose anymore weight at all, and if she starts eating more calories a day she will just gain weight quickly, I am sure, I haven’t mentioned that I just keep trying to get her to eat more.

I worry that her bottom is going to wind up being something quite severe, and it won’t be pretty, I know it will happen, eventually, I just don’t know when. I don’t know how long her body will continue to function before the low amount of calories starts to actually take a real toll, though I am sure it has in some ways, that I am must not noticing as I should.

OK, that is enough for now, I have to go to sleep as 4AM comes early and I want to get my happy ass home!
